What is invite.cam?
A hosted front-end for VDO.Ninja — peer-to-peer video chat in the browser, with added tools for running events where not everyone goes on camera at once.
How it works
- Hosts sign in, get a permanent room under their name, and share an invite link.
- Guests land in a lobby — they can watch a preview stream (YouTube, Twitch, or any embeddable source), chat, and raise a hand.
- The host can pull a guest on-camera into the live VDO.Ninja call, and kick them back to the lobby when done. Viewers who aren't on-camera watch via CDN and stay out of the way.
- The host controls invite URLs on the fly and can update them even while a guest is already connected.
Why sign in?
- Discord sign-in binds your identity to a room so you can moderate — block or ban people you don't want.
- Chat is routed server-side, so anonymous guests can't spoof or DM around you.
- Your room name persists. The same link works next week.
We only use Discord to confirm who you are. We don't post anything on your behalf. Invite.cam is still under active development — expect rough edges.
